Alexander Johns

RELATIONSHIP MANAGER, CO-FOUNDER

As a teenager, Alex was exposed to the construction and real estate industry through his family's business. He worked for his father's company, Design & Construction, where he learned the values of work ethic, customer service, and the importance of helping people improve their homes - their most valuable asset. 

Alex furthered his education by obtaining a Finance and Management Degree from the University of Kentucky. This degree allowed him to advance in his career and gain valuable skills in management, including business management, people management, analytical skills, inventory management, and cash planning.

Sean Schmitt

RELATIONSHIP MANAGER, CO-FOUNDER

Sean, a Louisville native, is a dynamic and enthusiastic person. With his previous experience as a Deputy Compliance Officer, he managed compliance operations across North America. Throughout his career in risk and compliance, Sean has consistently prioritized integrity and ethical values. He graduated from the University of Kentucky, where he studied Business/Corporate Communications. With his strong background as an auditor and analyst, Sean is meticulous in his work, whether he is in the office or supervising a project site.

Jacob Mizner

OFFICE MANAGER

Jacob joins A&S with a strong background in management from the manufacturing industry, where he has honed his skills in process improvement, time management, project communication, and efficient workflow. As he prepares to graduate from Elizabethtown Community and Technical College with a degree in Business Administration and Management, Jacob brings a fresh perspective to our team. His proficiency in communication with homeowners and his ability to excel in office operations makes him an asset to A&S. Jacob's commitment to delivering exceptional service and his strong skill set in management make him an invaluable addition to the A&S team.

Avery Smith

assistant operations manager

Having accumulated more than 8 years of experience in renovation and remodeling and recently as a Plumber Apprentice, Avery joined A&S as a Project Consultant. He is a passionate individual who devotes himself wholeheartedly to everything he does, be it advancing in his profession, practicing jujitsu and boxing, spending time with his family, or doting on his beloved Golden Retriever.

Carly Carr

PROJECT MANAGER

Spending years in the home improvement industry, Carly is a seasoned professional. Her comprehensive approach and commitment to excellence delivers quality driven results when it comes to projects. Whether it’s product selection, project planning or sub-contractor coordination, Carly ensures that each project is executed to the highest standards. Carly is client focused, whether that be delivering exceptional service or exceeding expectations. With a keen sense of aesthetics combined with her technical expertise, these allow her to understand our customers’ vision and make them into a reality.

Katie Boone

Katie is a dedicated Accountant at A&S Construction, leveraging her expertise to contribute significantly to the company's financial success. A Kentucky native, Katies' roots in the construction industry run deep, coming from a family of construction contractors. With a Bachelor's degree in Business, she brings a strong foundation of knowledge to her role, coupled with a diligent work ethic and a passion for excellence.

Beyond the office, Katie enjoys spending time with her family and immersing herself in the great outdoors. Her commitment to her work and continuous drive to exceed expectations make her an invaluable asset to A&S Construction.

Jace Wilson

Jace Wilson is from Shepherdsville, KY, where he attended North Bullitt High School. He then went on to play baseball and study at Kentucky State University, earning his bachelor's degree in Business Administration, specializing in management. As the Operations Specialist at A&S, Jace ensures a smooth transition for homeowners from sales to installation. His role also includes handling service calls, building material lists, and creating custom deck designs tailored to the homeowners' vision. Jace is committed to upholding A&S's core values of communication, integrity, and quality workmanship in everything he does and his dedication to excellence guarantees a top-notch experience for every project.

Derin Walters

Derin has over 20 years of experience in the building industry, with the majority of those years focused on kitchen and bath design. With a unique eye for problem-solving, Derin understands his clients and produces results that inspire. 'Seeing a project from design to completion is my true passion.'

Elijah Carr

Elijah Carr ensures that all ongoing projects run smoothly at A&S Construction. He diligently checks in on jobs throughout the day and supports subcontractors by ensuring they have everything they need for success. Elijah’s commitment to efficient operations and quality results makes him an integral part of the team. Outside of work, he enjoys music and coffee, which fuel his creativity and passion for excellence.
